Covid-19 Adoption Process

Due to the current situation we are temporarily doing things a little differently; with the cats we have who are vet checked and ready to go we are now considering contactless adoptions.

This is how it works:

We list each kitty on our Facebook page as they start accepting viewings. It is purely a case of keeping an eye out and messaging us if you see a feline you would like to meet.

Meetings are now video viewings via WhatsApp - that's right, you're going to video call your potential kitty!

If, after the meeting you would like to go ahead, an electronic home check is carried out, this includes a full video tour (with commentary) of your home and garden alongside a series of questions to assess your suitability to adopt that particular cat.

Next, if both parties are happy to proceed, we will arrange the adoption date.

A £50 (per cat) minimum donation is then payable; 100% of this goes to the evergrowing costs of the cats in our care.

Adoption forms are sent via email and we provide a contactless drop off or collection service.

Our adoption process

We list each kitty on our Facebook page as they start accepting viewings. So, it is a case of keeping an eye out and messaging us if you see one you would like to meet and we will look to arrange that for you.

Once you have met them:

if you are interested in adopting from us, the next step would be for us to visit your home and meet any children, pets, people you live with, this is a standard procedure for all Cat-CHING adoptions.

Next, if both parties are happy to proceed, we will arrange the adoption date.

A £50 (per cat) minimum donation is then payable; 100% of this goes to the evergrowing costs of the cats in our care.

In cases where you are adopting a cat who is big or old enough to be neutered and microchipped, we can do this before the adoption, where the cat isn't ready for the procedure we will aim to signpost you to free or reduced cost neutering in your area and we will ask you to sign an agreement declaring that you understand Cat-Ching was set up with an aim to reduce the overpopulation of cats and you will oversee neutering at your earliest opportunity.
